The Challenge
How do you create a feeling?
Nauticus wanted to capture the breadth of their visitor experience and the scale of the Battleship Wisconsin, but wide shots alone can’t capture what makes a visit unforgettable. We saw an opportunity to pull in close on the reactions, the wonder, and the discovery happening on people's faces.
Solution
Zoom In
Guided by a detailed storyboard, we moved through the museum chasing close-up moments: a kid's face lighting up at an interactive exhibit and the awe of stepping aboard a real battleship. Rather than relying on voiceover narration, we used bold, animated on-screen text paired with high-energy music to let the visuals and pacing carry the excitement, rather than a narrator's voice.
PRE-PRODUCTION
Storyboard Process
Daniel and Sarah whipped out their pencils to map out every shot before a single frame was filmed. That groundwork gave us a clear shot list to chase on filming day.
