The Challenge

How do we craft a multifaceted narrative?

WPA needed a visual narrative that would honor the craftsmanship of glassmaking, celebrate the innovative architectural design and process, and communicate the broader cultural significance of bringing this expanded facility to the Chrysler Museum of Art.

A Mini-Doc Approach

Through five production days, we captured the Perry Glass Studio in full operation: documenting the heat, movement, and precision of glassmaking across multiple hot shops and dedicated classrooms. We interviewed key members of the WPA and Chrysler teams to explore the vision behind the expansion and connect the studio to the larger Norfolk creative community.

The "Spinny Glass" Shot

One of the creative goals was to place the viewer in the middle of the action. Here we mounted a camera, counterbalanced by a monitor, to the artist's pole. Then the crew at the Perry Glass Studio did their thing.
